Interventional Pain Management
Interventional pain management is a subspecialty of the medical specialty of pain management. Its devoted to the use of invasive techniques such as facet joint injections, nerve blocking (interrupting the flow of pain signals along specific nervous system pathways), neuroaugmentation (including spinal cord stimulation and peripheral nerve stimulation), Platelet Rich Plasma Therapy (PRP) vertebroplasty, kyphoplasty, nucleoplasty, endoscopic discectomy, percutaneous spine fusion and implantable drug delivery systems.
At MSR our goal is to treat patients from a conservative approach first before escalating to oral medication, injections and/or surgery. In the event of chronic debilitation pain, our medical staff is equipped to handle complicated chronic pain cases with a team approach to treat different types of pain including complex pain syndromes.
Pain Management patients at MSR have easy access to a broad range of resources. Active collaboration with our physiatrists, physical therapists, chiropractors, massage therapists, and acupuncturists greatly broadens the diagnostic and treatment modalities available.
